We recently got to share the exciting news of our upcoming baby’s gender with our loved ones at a Gender Reveal Brunch. Any type of event is fun for me to plan, and I will admit that I can get swept up creating over the top details in a heartbeat. However, Brince and I didn’t want to go overboard for this event. Our priority was to have an intimate, memorable celebration with our families that didn’t inconvenience anyone’s schedule. Thus, we decided to host a Saturday brunch at our home. We took care of all the details so that everyone could just show up and enjoy!
The biggest challenge in planning this event was deciding the HOW for the actual reveal portion of the event. After days of brainstorming, I decided on confetti poppers for our reveal. Because I have so much to say about confetti poppers (I decided to make a DIY version), I’m going to share those details in another post, along with pictures from the big reveal… For now, I’ll just cover the details from our brunch.
Martha Stewart Crafts has a great line of paper decor kits available at Michaels, which made my decorating process super easy (thanks Martha!). I love the semi-homemade approach when it cuts down on my time in the crafting studio. I utilized the pink, gold, and mint tassel garland kit and hanging paper flower/paper lantern kit.
For the table settings, I used a mint polka dot paper as a runner on our farm table and placed the donut holes on a cake stand for the centerpiece. I mixed my white Juliska salad plates and my grandmother’s antique pink-glass salad plates for the place settings. I found a super fun abstract Paperchase napkin at Target in all my colors of choice. Every place setting was topped with a Lindor Chocolate Truffle…just because.
The brunch menu included a breakfast casserole by my Dad (which was amazing!), banana bread mini muffins (Mema’s specialty), vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing, donut holes, and mini pancake stacks with nutella and bananas. It was delicious and a perfect fix for my pregnancy sweet tooth! We served blueberry mimosas, orange juice, coffee and white hot chocolate for drinks. Of course, I didn’t get any food photos. We were all hungry – no time for photos! 🙂
It was a perfect morning with our loved ones that Brince and I will cherish forever. I look forward to telling Baby C all about it when he is older.
