It was so much fun to be a part of Allison and Tom’s special day! They are such a fun couple to be around. Allison was a dream bride – she was so laid back and trusting throughout the entire planning process. She knew what her must-haves were for the wedding then let me build on her style and taste to create a beautifully refined design. It’s safe to say it was an unforgettable night for all of the guests that attended.
At our first meeting at Allison’s family’s river home, I was absolutely giddy when they told me they would like to hold the wedding and reception there at the house… in the backyard! They just weren’t sure how to “make it work.” Their home has a beautiful lush backyard that rolls right down to the river. My mind started racing with ideas! This was the perfect backdrop for a personalized yet romantic wedding reception.
The family home served as the inspiration for Allison’s paper suite. I must admit, this was one of my favorite parts of her wedding. The super talented Natalie Chang Studio, created a water color of the home to use in the liner of the invitations. They turned out so beautiful and impressive!
The couple chose the Sunday before Labor Day as their wedding date. Since both of them work in the car industry, it was important to avoid having the wedding on a Saturday. Apparently people like to buy cars on Saturday and hey, who am I to get in the way of that?! We had a mild Sunday afternoon (thank goodness!), and with the holiday on Monday, guests had plenty of time to recover and travel back home.
The top priorities for the couple were: great music and great food. The incredible band, ATL Groove Factory, kept guests grooving on the black and white checkered dance floor all night long. Epting Events provided an incredible meal, including a raw oyster bar and their signature praline station for guest favors. Macon Tent Rentals created the perfect reception setting with a large draped tent, canopy lighting, and a custom built bar. The impressive centerpieces and bouquets were designed by Frou Frou Studio. I truly had a dream team on this wedding!
At the end of the night, the couple chose to release wishing lanterns with their guests for their farewell. It was a beautiful sight to see them light up the sky and float above the river.
