When one of your oldest guy friends decides to marry a gal that you instantly love, it’s a recipe for a lifetime of happiness. I’ve always been grateful for Joseph’s friendship, but I’m ESPECIALLY grateful that he brought Erica into my life. She has been such a blessing of a friend. Sadly, I can’t take credit for introducing Joseph and Erica, but I did control some major plays on the chessboard later in their dating game.
Cue story…Over mimosas at a tailgate, Erica shared with me that she wanted to find a career opportunity to move closer to Joseph. At that time, I was the Business Manager at James Farmer Inc., and we were in need of a new employee. Shortly after our conversation, I offered Erica a job with the company that would bring her to Perry. Her job led to Joe finding/securing a job in Perry, which led to me convincing them to look at a house in our neighborhood, which led to them BUYING the house in our neighborhood and me getting the coolest neighbors ever (and the other way around)! The story couldn’t have worked out any better for me! It was a part of my plan all along. 🙂
With Erica being such a close friend and my passion being weddings, it was only natural that we talked about plans for her wedding EVERY time we were together! I loved helping her refine her wedding design and details. Additionally, she hired my super talented sister-in-law, Maggie Griffin Design, to do the flowers for her wedding. Therefore, I got to play “Flower Assistant Extraordinaire” for the wedding weekend — so fun!
I couldn’t wait to share these images of the flowers and decor from Erica + Joseph’s wedding. It was such a beautiful affair and wonderful weekend all around!
For the ceremony, we wanted to create a romantic and understated backdrop. We enhanced the soft, romantic white draping with a lemon leaf garland and lots of candlelight in hurricane globes. The venue at Foxhall Resort is so beautiful without any decorations. I think this was the perfect balance for the cedar beams and dark wood floors in the room.
For the reception, we utilized mercury containers and candlesticks with all green and white flowers. I just love how it all turned out!
It was so fun to party the night away with friends and family! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Stewart! I’m so proud to call you my friends!
