Mary & Zach | Macon, Georgia

When the height of Fall hits in Georgia and the colors change from green to tones of orange and brown, we always think back fondly on Mary and Zach’s wedding in 2020. Their wedding set the bar high on small (to us, that’s 100 guests or less), perfectly curated dinner receptions with a backyard ceremony.

Mary and Zach’s initial wedding dreams consisted of an Italian destination wedding for close family and friends, yet amidst questioning circumstances during COVID, they altered their plans to host their wedding at Mary’s parents’ home. They made necessary adjustments to cut down their guest list for precautionary measures and hosted as much as they could outdoors. When forced to make weather adjustments, we moved the entire sit-down dinner indoors on the day of the wedding. By moving the furnishings out of the three primary rooms, we were able to seat all guests in a cozy yet comfortable dinner arrangement. Personally, I love how romantic the tablescapes turned out inside! Mary incorporated custom terracotta pots as a nod to their Italian countryside wedding visions, and the florals by Allison Lucas were so dreamy!

Once dinner was completed, a few of their closest friends joined for cocktails, cake, late night snacks and an indoor dance party to celebrate with the newlyweds. Let me tell you, they had the best time!
