Michael Buble and Mariah Carey have kept us cozy with their Christmas tunes this month and it’s hard to believe we are saying goodbye to the Christmas season in order to welcome a new year!
January is upon us, and like many of you, I’m spending a great amount of time in reflection over the last year and the last Quarter in general.
After we wrap a killer New Years Eve wedding tomorrow (yes, they plan on counting down the New Year with their guests with champagne and fireworks), we will have capped our record year with 24 fabulous weddings for 2022. Our clients have been incredible, and I’m very proud of our team for this accomplishment!
I’m also a little proud of myself. For the first time in…well, ever… I have consistently said hello to our email insiders for the past 4 months and added new monthly content to the blog since May! While maintaining this level of new content keeps my work days full… it’s been extremely fun! I am loving writing again and building relationships with our email insiders community.
I recently had Facebook Support tell me that they will not (ever) reinstate advertising privileges for my LLC Events page due to a hacking back in December 2021 (yep, a whole year ago). This was a major buzzkill to my marketing aspirations for engagement season. Welp! I had big advertising dreams for December!! But it was also a needed reminder of the value of dedicating resources towards launching an email list this year. If you’re a business owner or marketer that relies on social media, here’s my friendly reminder that you don’t own your audience on social platforms and it’s in your best interest to build your own network to reach them elsewhere.
We have opened the {cabinet} doors to the LLC Party Pantry and the response has been overwhelming! I’m personally excited to be sharing my entertaining and tabletop collection for others to level-up their tablescape and enjoy hosting in their home. The holiday season is certainly the best time to spread joy and share kindness, of which I’ve loved doing through the Party Pantry.
We published (4) new blogs this Quarter! ICYMI:
Ultra-Glam New Year’s Day Wedding | Summerour Studio
5 Things to Know Before Shopping for a Wedding Dress
An Intimate Backyard Wedding and At-Home Reception Done Right
A Timeless Southern Soiree at The Retreat of Southern Bridle Farms
Consistency has never been my strong suit. I work in ebbs and flows, sprints and snoozes. So I am really proud of myself for showing up this quarter for myself and for you! If you haven’t already joined my email insiders list, it’s basically like my social media DMs, so come on over and join the club!
We spent the first half of the year longing to wrap up a renovation and move into our new home. Nesting and preparing for the holidays in our new house has been extra special to me…a staircase to hang garland on, new neighbors to trick or treat with, admiring the Christmas tree lights over morning coffee…it’s the little things that bring me so much joy!
Taking the kids to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game and SEC FanFare was a blast! I’m working hard to make sure that they believe red and black runs through their veins. I will continue with this personal mission until I’m paying their tuition to UGA. Then my work will be done. :-))
The return of “Tom” our elf. I’ll be honest, I was the reluctant mom to welcome an elf in our home over the added responsibility of which it entails. But this year, I’ve truly enjoyed the creative challenge {different from my daily work} and watching the children’s responses daily.
Cameron was extra excited for Christmas this year and that is fun to watch. There’s nothing like the magic of Christmas through a child’s eyes!
Oh and we definitely cheered on our Dawgs to win over LSU in early December! I can hardly wait for the playoff game and (hopefully) another natty.
I started Atomic Habits on audible. It seems fitting as a try to define resolutions for 2023.
We’re taking in Harry & Megan while also watching The Crown on Netflix. To say it’s taking in two sides of the story would be an understatement.
After living in our house for FIVE months, Brince and I finally got closet systems installed in our closets, and I can’t even begin to tell you how much LIFE this gave to me! Seriously, cooler weather swooping in and a lost array of sweaters and coats in our basement was not the recipe for a Winter Wonderland in our home. Now I’m slowly transitioning all my garments to matching hangers and bins while pretending that I moonlight on The Home Edit.
These swans, my Juliska Christmas Tree cookie jar, and making dried orange garlands to hang in my kitchen.
This book I gifted to a family member. It has the most precious animal illustrations and quippy little lines for inspiration to “wild and free” living.
Does ringing in 2023 make you excited for what’s to come or sad for what didn’t come to you in 2022? If there’s any remorse for anything you didn’t get done, make a list of what you DID accomplish. I can bet, it was alot. And be proud of yourself. You deserve a round of applause and a glass of champagne. Cheers to the new year!
